I have economic rice as lunch most of the time. And normally i'll ask for half rice, and i'll pick 4 dishes in small portion ( 1 vege, 1 meat, 1 egg and 1 other ). But i really don;t understand some of the people who just take rice and 1 dish. Like one of my ex colleague, she only take the rice, 1 fried chicken and some curry gravy. When i asked her, she said she's just used to that. To me it's like a bit plain lorr...
( btw, she is not poor ya... cos she is higher position that me )
What is your normal economic rice selection?
And i'll normally take a small bowl of free soup to go with the rice. I just love soups :)

I can live with 1 dish most of the time. Trained by my mother to be moderate and minimal.
ReplyDeleteLove you Mom !
:)
I love chap fan!! I normally go for it when at a coffee shop because I think it has more value for money in terms of variety & nutrition, compared to eating like wan tan mee, noodle soup or chicken rice..
ReplyDeleteMy standard formula is 3 dishes with normal rice portion: 1 meat, 2 vege which includes pumpkin or bitter gourd.. sometimes go for omelet or taufu.. depends what looks fresh on that day :)
no rice, 3 meats, 1 vege, 1 egg/tofu. soup if they have it. a lot more expensive than the usual. :)
ReplyDeletei will take 1 meat, 1 vege and then 1 egg or tofu like that lor, standard lah.. 4 dishes only when i'm in super good mood~~

ReplyDeletebut yea cutting the rice makes the difference for me. and I avoid the fried stuff whenever possible. eggs are a favourite, so sometimes I get more. And very often beans for veggie.
Had high uric acid during my teens and had to stave off all these for a while. heheh. sawi everyday.
2 vege, 1 meat or all vege. Sometimes I lazy to take soup le. Haha.

Not a fan of 'chap fan' :(( cos mummy can dish out very tasty and nutritious food. Whenever I am in Perth my daughter will ask me to cook extra for dinner so she can 'tapau' it for lunch the next day :)) Soup of the day from 'chap fan' outlet? No way, they are so blend and tasteless!!! Sorry I say that, please don't throw stone or rotten eggs at me.....
ReplyDeletejade .. its very difficult for me to cook for one everyday la ;p
